This is your next step in your career to broaden your register as a performing artist. The course is for those who already have a basic education in music, dance, as an actor or equivalent and wish to develop and deepen your artistic expression. During the course you will explore your creativity and your imagination. The course is adapted to your needs.

About the course

Our method is: The unwritten, the unsaid. Inner knowing and creative and pedagogical processes.
Knowledge is based on facts and experience. It is definite. Or at least untill it isn’t any more because we’ve received new information and our understanding changes. Knowledge comes from external sources. Inner knowing is different. It is fluid. It comes from the infinite within. We work from inner knowing when we teach, and let that guide our knowledge and experience. We train performers to let their inner knowing guide their performance. Training inner knowing will help you discover and learn to trust your inner voice as a performer.

By exploring quiet knowledge and practicing awareness, presence, technology and expression, you will develop as a stage artist / artist. We guide you through
your personal process, and together we go through your needs and questions.
This course is step one of three. It is basic for step 2 and step 3, which will come as separate course opportunities later.

The training will be adapted to the group of people who are in place, therefore are you that are applying important.

Who is the course for?

This course is aimed at those who have a basic education in music theater / dance / acting or equivalent.

  • Inner knowing (”tyst kunskap”)
  • Universal movement principles from dance and historical and contemporary martial arts
  • Expresssion and Story

Price: SEK 6400, of which SEK 1,000 is application fee. The course is not eligible for study funding.*

In Umeå, Sweden at First Hotell.

What does it cost?

The regular price of the course is SEK 8000. But by 2020, the Musical Theatre Academy is celebrating 20 years, and we want to celebrate this by offering a 20% discount on the course. So right now the course costs only 6400 SEK.

Maximum number of students

We have a limited number of students that we can accept.

Accommodation and food

There will be the opportunity to stay and dine at the hotel we are staying at. Price for this is coming soon.

Application and admission requirements

Do I need any prior knowledge?

You must have upper secondary education or equivalent and basic education or equivalent in music theater, dance, or as an actor

Your application should contain a brief description, max an A4 page, of yourself, in which you also motivate why you are applying for this course, as well as a summary of your training and work.

When will I be notified if I am accepted?

You will hear from us no later than 1 week after the last application date.

Course certificate

After completing the course, course certificates will be issued.
